Building always on agents seems really useful to be able to fork you current session instantly.

They will let you run background tasks with full context of your current environment.

Primitives like copy on write file systems like Archil seem to make this possible.

I wonder how hard that is to pull off. I wonder whether Modal supports this kind of instant forking of sandboxes including all running processes and memory state.

I also wonder how that works with the OpenAI Agents API when trying to retain hidden thinking blocks in both paths.
